Mechanical engineering
BE Mechanical (Honours Class I), Western Sydney University, 2026. Most of my final year went into CFD in ANSYS Fluent on a wind turbine rotor. Alongside that: FEA in ANSYS Workbench on a full suspension assembly, CAD and drawing packages in SolidWorks to AS 1100, and a placement at Transpave building road maintenance trucks. Through the degree I also worked as an electrician's labourer, six years in all.
Projects
Industrial experience at Transpave
Industrial placement · Transpave · 2025–26
A placement on the production floor building bitumen spray trucks: press brake, hydraulics, 12 V wiring, final assembly and fault finding. It ended with a full-time job offer.
Aerodynamic optimisation of a 150 m wind turbine
Honours thesis · ANSYS Fluent · 2025
My thesis asked how tightly wind turbines can be packed, starting with how close a second can sit behind the first. Full-rotor transient CFD in ANSYS Fluent, 47 simulations and a fitted formula put it at five rotor diameters inline, for 89.6% combined yield.
Suspension system design
MECH4002 group project, technical lead · ANSYS Workbench, SolidWorks · 2025
A car's front suspension, measured by hand off a real rig, then taken through static, modal and transient FEA and one redesign. Team of three; I ran the FEA and the redesign, which cut peak stresses by 47 to 98%.
Reinventing the BBQ for a circular future
ENGR2022, solo · SolidWorks · 2025
A four-burner gas BBQ designed to be repaired and taken apart: an eight-piece cooking surface, standard fasteners and duplicated parts, 99.99% recyclable by mass. Benchmarked against three retail models and drawn up in 39 A2 sheets.
CAD, drawings and coursework
WSU coursework · SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB · 2023–25
Nine smaller projects from 2023 to 2025: drawing sets for a torch and an e-bike, mechanisms, FEA and CFD, MATLAB solvers, robotics and a climbing dome.
